Small Beginnings

Our business launched in 2013 as a social enterprise, with an initial vision to provide jobs to homeless persons. As demand for our service offering skyrocketed, the owner became more involved in the operations. We were able to increase our client base, processing capacity, and expertise in converting and refurbishing polystyrene and appliances, respectively. Our company soon developed a reputation for being the most reliable service provider and recycler in the sector and for providing high-quality products free of contamination.

Homegrown Talent

New Earth Recycling is based in Cape Town. We are 100% black-owned and are managed by Noel Ehrenreich, a qualified chartered accountant CA (SA). Other key support staff include Mercia Isaacs, the facility manager; Kinnah Moses, the factory supervisor; and Lindisipho Dlingca, the factory foreman. New Earth Group currently employs 19 staff members. We continue to grow our footprint in the plastics recycling sector, with a focus on polystyrene in particular, ensuring that this reusable plastic is diverted away from landfill. This intervention makes a significant impact on the environment and socio-economic conditions of the communities we operate in.

Making Our Mark

New Earth Recycling group has a level 1 BBBEE rating and we have recently graduated from the SAB Foundation Tholoana Programme, a two-year 360 degree business development programme for innovative businesses who are making a positive impact in the communities where they operate.

Our vision is to be a leader in the creation of multiple environmentally-friendly and sustainable channels and end-user applications for recycled waste plastics in the next 3 to 5 years.

Our mission is to reduce the rate of landfill waste by partnering with like-minded organisations. As a polystyrene recycling company, we aim to be a catalyst in changing attitudes towards waste management by offering superior service delivery that meets the needs of our clients, our people and the environment. Our company ethos is based on mutual care, prioritising job creation and protecting the planet.
